what we have done so far...

We have finished recording all our shots however we were not able to get some of the shots that we wanted. This was due to the fact that the attendance of myself and the cast was not our strong point. As we have passed our filming deadline we will have to use the shots that we have. We have now started editing our video clip, and thought about ideas of music to use as our audio background.An idea that we have come up with s to use the MICHAEL BUBLE song 'Just haven't met you yet',however we have not confirmed this as we might produce our own sound track to gain more marks.
We have realised that team work and organisation of the group is essential.

How we over came our problems

instead of filming on the train we filmed on the number 15 bus, because it goes into central London and would provide us with good scenery.

We have come across problems during our attempt to filming, such as at limehouse the dlr station. we needed to contact the dlr's customer service for permission to record on the platform and train. we contacted them by emailing and phoning. the feedback we recieved was to pay £250 to film, which we saw as unreasonable so we decided to film on the bus as it is a cheaper alternative!

we also couldnt film due to adverse weather conditions it was snowing for a week!

our schedule also was hard to stick to due to it being exams period at college so we missed two slots which was quite a big set back.

We have secured our main charcaters called khalid and leema.
we have modified our story board.
we have filmed the main clips for our film opening
we have filmed numerous practice cut-aways for our piece when it was based on the dlr
we have decided on costume for our main characters.
we have also used one prop to establish a typical business woman.
we have made our filming schedule.
we contacted dlr customer services, via telephone and email.
we have also found our theme tune.

Today in media studies we watched a film opening 'HITCH' starring Will Smith.
We analysed how the main characters psychal apearance and charateristics can represent groups in society. This film represented adults wo are searching for love.
There were many different ehtnic groups, people of diferent ages shapes and sizes. they all come from working class.

The main characters in our film opening are Leemar and Khalid. they are both from different ethnic minorities like the couple in hitch. We have picked Leemar for the main role as she is a pretty bangladeshi young girl, girly and very feminine.
We Have Picked iraqi Khalid because he is tall, dopey looking, well dressed. he is representing the more typical dominating man, with cocky attitude.

Overall we believe that our task was rather successful. It was much better than our practice run which was just not working because camera work was very stiff and jolted. We used two cameras so our shots flowed better we think this was useful cause we got to catch things from different perspectives which makes our piece look slightly more sophisticated. Using people from our group as actresses was helpful because we didn't have to rely on anyone else. I think we could of improved on some features of our piece for example the zooms could of been a little smoother and we should of attached a microphone to the camera so we could pick up dialogue in more clarity. Which would of allowed us to adjust the background noise levels.

The way the camera is used in this clip represents the idea of a romantic film. Ways in which this is shown is gentle sweeping motions of the camera, soft panning movements, close up shots of the characters face emphasizing their facial expressions.The audio also adds to the clip by using mellow romantic music in the background.
Features in the clip that show common characteristics of the romance genre is the wind blowing gently across their face and acts of physical affection.

Romance is that aura that surrounds falling/being in love. It's that light-headed, stomach dropping, lump-in-your-throat feeling you get when the man you love says something sweet, does something silly that touches your heart. It's the excitement of the chase and the capture. . . and later the eternal imprisonment of your heart.

One definition of Romantic Fiction is that romances are our modern fairy tale. A romance is a work in which the plot centers around a love relationship and draws its power from the feeling that falling in love is one of the defining moments of our lives: if it culminates in marriage and a family, it is an event that affects the future as well as the present.
